One of the gems of the college football season, the Sugar Bowl enjoyed its 85th edition on the first day of the current year. Fade back to the birth of this venerable New Year's Day tradition with this first ever official Sugar Bowl program from Tulane Stadium in New Orleans. This very handsome program is dated 1/1/35 and features a match-up between hometown team Tulane vs Temple. The Tulane Green Wave football team washed over the SEC during the 1934 season, with a perfect conference record of 8-0 and their overall record that year was 10-1, including their Sugar Bowl victory over the game Temple Owls by a score of 20-14. Truly a marvel of preservation, the offered gameday program is bright and clean, with vivid colors, a tight spine and supple pages, adding up to a very solid (EX-MT) rating. While "Tulaners" will revel in the glory of one of the highlights of their school's history, publication pursuers at large will find the photo page of Temple coach "Pop" Warner and his staff to be of great interest.
