Rarity waves right before your eyes, with this 1960s Los Angeles Dodgers photo pennant featuring a Sandy Koufax real photo postcard. A light hitting unit, the Dodgers of the early to mid 1960s relied heavily on their brilliant pitching staff for the great success the team enjoyed. Chief among their mound masters, Koufax was more than just the Dodgers "Ace", he was generally regarded as the best pitcher in all of baseball during his prime. This very rare 17-1/2 x 9" half-size pennant was made available at Dodgers Stadium during the 1960s and it is formatted with a window opening for insertion of RPPCs produced by "Plastichrome" for distribution by "Mitock & Sons". In this case the window of this supreme stadium souvenir is filled with a Koufax postcard that is backed by a second RPPC with Wes Parker. The pennant is in excellent condition with just minor traces of wear, including a small notch on the white accent strip at the wide end, a few light cracks on the window frame border and team lettering and some very minor fraying on the bottom edge and point. The lettering and graphics are bright white, the blue field is clean and supple and the Koufax postcard presents as nearly like-new. All in all this is a fantastic example featuring one of the greatest players of the 1960s.
