Sometime around their 1948 World Series victory and a return appearance to the "Fall Classic" in 1954, the giddy Cleveland Indians went on a souvenir spree, issuing all kinds of team related merchandise in hopes of cashing in on their success. One of the rarest offerings is this majestic c.1940s-1950s 34x36 silk panel. We say rare in this case because damn if we could find any indications of another one in existence. This large peach colored panel is adorned with game action scenes at center and on the corners, with the team name centered on all four borders and images of baseballs, bats, equipment and mascot "Chief Wahoo" interspersed. This remarkable rarity presents in excellent condition with a clean, glossy surface and minimal wear.
