Celebrate one of the great nights in baseball history with this limited edition Leroy Neiman lithograph. On 9/6/95, Baltimore Orioles legend Cal Ripken Jr. played in consecutive game #2,131 to surpass Lou Gehrig's record as baseball's all-time leading "Iron Man". Ripken's big night crested with a 22-minute ovation and victory lap around Oriole Park, in front of a packed house that included President Bill Clinton. This triumphant occasion is admirably recalled with this 34x42 litho, which is LE numbered "167/370". While moderate wear on the perimeter and some minor cracking in the field at bottom are noted, this compelling piece makes a dynamic presentation with vibrant colors and a glossy texture reminiscent of an oil painting. Neiman has incorporated the date and location in the field at bottom left, with "Camden Yards 9-6-95" and has signed ("9") in pencil on the border at bottom right. Ripken has signed on the border at bottom left, also in pencil with ("7-8") potency. Full photo LOA from JSA.
