Competing at the highest level of minor league play, the teams in the AAA International League processed countless future major leaguers on their way up and also a good number of former bigs on their way down. Purists go to the source with this c.1979-1981 Columbus Clippers game-used baseball lot of (87). A good number of these balls are dated and most are signed by members of the Clippers and also their opponents, such as the Tidewater Tides, Syracuse Chiefs, Toledo Mud Hens, Pawtucket Red Sox and Charlestown Charlies. As balls are kept in play longer in the minors than in the majors, abundant signs of authentic use are noted throughout this collection and league president facsimile signature stamps also provide authenticity. Signature strength ranges from bold to faded, with the great majority legible. Some of the noted MLB prospects and old-timers who have signed are: Tony Oliva, Mickey Vernon, Gene Woodling, Red Sox manager Joe Morgan, Mookie Wilson, Dave Righetti, Mike Boddicker, Steve Balboni, Rich Gedman, Ernie Whitt and Dave Stieb. No authentication due to time/cost restraints.
