Led by the remarkable Ronaldinho with nine goals, the Brazilian Olympic football (soccer) team won the 2000 Conmebol tournament to earn a spot in the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Presented is a championship medal from the 2000 South American Olympics qualifying tournament, held between 1/18/00 and 2/6/00 in Brazil at various locations. This 2-3/8" diameter medal shows minor signs of wear including traces of tarnishing on the edge only, but remains in excellent condition with gleaming surfaces. The front of this medal is ringed with the flags of the ten participating South American nations and a map of the continent at center serves as the background for the association letters C.S.F., which stands for "Confederacion Sud America". The back is engraved on a raised box at center with "Al Campeon Torneo Preolimpico Sub-23 Brasil 2000" and lettering around the edge reads "Confederacion Sud America De Futbol Fundada En 1916". Accompanying this prestigious medal is a COA signed by Marcos Moura Teixeira, stated as the "Brazil National Team Soccer Technical Coordinator.
