One of the top all-time scorers of the English Premier League, soccer star Teddy Sheringham pulled double duty in 1997, playing for the mighty Manchester United Football Club and also England's powerful National Team. It was with the National Team, that Sheringham wore this England away jersey in 1997. In qualifying matches for the 1998 FIFA World Cup, the select striker scored goals against Georgia on 4/30/97 and Poland on 5/31/97 and could very well have been wearing the offered shirt during the away game at Silesian Stadium in Poland. This crimson jersey radiates display appeal and reports in excellent condition, with only minor traces of wear. A label inside the collar shows the maker to be "Umbro" and stitched into the collar is a narrow band with the word "England" repeated several times. Sherignham's name and number "10" patches are securely attached to the back of the shirt and the front makes an outstanding presentation, with "Umbro" and "England" embroidered above and below a regal crest logo patch, with another set of number patches below. The red, white and blue elastic collar remains taut and the garment's crimson surface is clean and bright. Comes with a COA signed by longtime Brazilian National Soccer Team technical coordinator Marcos Moura Teixeira, stating this jersey comes from his personal collection.
