The Big Bam was pint-sized compared to 6'4", 300-pound Walter "Jumbo" Brown, who had 2 inches and over 50 pounds on his legendary teammate. In Brown's defense, such girth seems to have been connected somehow to the removal of his tonsils in 1927 and was subsequently unimproved by hours-long exercise sessions. Nevertheless, the "athletic Oliver Hardy" enjoyed his two best seasons with the 1932-33 Yankees, recording win-loss records of 5-2 and 7-5. Interestingly, Brown is the third leg of this quite unique and extraordinary stool—a medium-toned, heavily scuffed, red-and-blue-seamed "Babe Ruth / Home Run Special" ball with sweet-spot Ruth ("2-3"), east-panel Gehrig ("3-4") and Brown ("3"). Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
