Seeking to wash away thoughts of the 1919 "Black Sox" scandal, the Brooklyn Dodgers took on the Cleveland Indians in the 1920 World Series. A best of nine series between two teams who had never won a WS title, this event came on the heels of a suspension of the Chicago White Sox star players with just three games to go in the season, while the Indians and Sox were tied in the standings. Led by treasured manager Wilbert Robinson, the Dodgers came up short against the "Tribe", falling in seven games. Brooklyn's participation is remembered with this 1920 WS lot of (3) featuring: 1.) Dodgers version WS program front cover only with Robinson photo presenting handsome VG-EX+ detail; 2.) Ebbets Field "Press Gate" ticket booklet spine and back cover only in solid condition; and 3.) Brooklyn Press Club ticket for reception rally in appealing state with deference to one clipped corner at top left and traces of adhesive/paper residue on the blank reverse.
