Description

Fittingly the great Joe DiMaggio's last hurrah came on baseball's main stage. "Joltin Joe's" final MLB games came in the 1951 World Series, with his Yankees taking on crosstown rivals the Giants. DiMaggio belted his last homer in Game 4 of the '51 "Fall Classic", which ended with the Yankees victorious in six games. Commemorating DiMaggio's final home run is this majestic "Yankee Clipper" framed display, featuring a DiMaggio single-signed baseball and a 16x20 photo multi-signed by (16) Giants players, most of whom were participants in the 1951 World Series.

Graced with an art image portrait of DiMaggio, the Rawlings "Official League" ball (NM-MT) is signed by Joe with ("9") potency on the sweet spot, along with the inscription "Yankee Clipper". Full photo LOA from JSA.

The like-new photograph sees DiMaggio finishing the swing that launched his ultimate blast into the Polo Grounds bleachers. Arrayed across the top of the photo, the (16) Giants autographs display average ("9-10") strength, with: Harry Danning, Larry Jansen, Dusty Rhodes, Al Corwin, Al Dark, Joe Moore, Bobby Thomson, Sal Yvars, Spider Jorgenson, Wes Westrum, Don Mueller, Herman Franks, George Spencer, Clint Hartung, Willard Marshall and Monte Irvin. Auction LOA from JSA.

Accented with gold lettering and trim, the 36x24x4 frame remains attractive and serviceable, however a 1" wide gouge is noted on the top span.
