Say the name Disney and everyone who speaks English and most of those who don't, will readily know who you are talking about. Animator Walt Disney dreamed big and millions of loyal fans have enjoyed the fruition of his labors over the past hundred years. The empire he started in the early 1920s is now a global giant, with a big number of subsidiaries under its umbrella, but let's turn the page back to a simpler era, when the "Disneyland" theme park was new and the "Walt Disney's Disneyland" show was must-see TV.
Featured is a 1957 "The Story of Walt Disney" first edition book dual-signed by Walt Disney (d.1965) and his daughter, Diane Disney Miller (d.2013). This well-preserved hardcover book reports in (EX-MT+) condition and is accompanied by its original dust jacket, which is vibrant and glossy with a few small edge tears. Author Diane Miller Disney has signed ("7-8") on the second blank page at front and Walt has provided a truly spectacular ("8-9") autograph with his usual flair, that takes up most of the title page. Also included is a Kodak "Kodacolor Print" 5 x 3-1/2" photo dated "January, 1960" on the reverse. This crisp, clean (NM) photo sees Walt talking to boy, in what appears to be a backstage setting.
