Among his many endeavors, NBA legend Magic Johnson manufactured basketball shoes and he also made a comeback as a player in 1996. Served up is truly magical pair of his "Volt Magic Johnson MVP" shoes, game worn by the Lakers' legend during the 1996 NBA playoffs in a series against the Houston Rockets. A rare 1996 one-year production type, these "Volt" brand white with black accent shoes show moderate wear/use, including cracking on both tongues and the once clear gel heels have turned a medium shade of brown. Otherwise they remain bright white, well-formed and appealing. Both shoes have purple embroidered Johnson facsimile signatures on the tongues, purple number "32" patches on the backs and purple and black Volt logos on the sides. Johnson has provided similar ("7-8") strength autographs on the outward facing sides of both shoes, just below the Volt logos and the left shoe is also inscribed with "#32". Research for photo matching has turned up a couple of corroborating "Getty Editorial" images, with #88977846 and #51872999, the latter of which features Johnson and Houston's star guard/forward Clyde Drexler in a photo taken on 4/27/96 during the first round of the NBA playoffs. Johnson's (2) autographs are accompanied by a full photo LOA from JSA.
