Do You Have This, Mantle Collectors?! We certainly doubt it. Baseball was not all glamour and adoration for Mickey Mantle. With incredible athleticism and blazing speed, Mantle was often exposed to injuries consistent with daredevil play. The Triple Crown talent is pictured wrapping his right leg prior to a game on this circa 1956 Dexter Press Postcard. The full color clubhouse picture measures 3-3/8 x 5-1/4" and grades in (VG-EX) condition with only a superficial back crease which does not protrude the front. It's interesting to note that Dexter Press did not release a mainstream product during the 1956 season and the only year identifier is inscribed "Mickey Mantle Yankees 1956" on the reverse is black ink. Such factors lend credence to the notion that this piece was pulled by the company (possibly due to objections from Mantle or the Yankees or both) prior to distribution. A mysterious period Mantle collectible with significant upside appeal!
