Get an insider's view of the Pittsburgh Steelers game strategies during the period 1950-1954 with this hand-drawn playbook that belonged to All-Pro guard George Hughes. The first page of this well-preserved playbook is headed in pencil with "Pittsburgh Steelers" and "George Hughes, Room #4". Directly beneath those entries, the page is filled out with a half-dozen play diagrams. Dozens of supple off-white to cream-colored pages continue the format, with an extensive array of X's and O's throughout this fascinating old school volume. The first page is partially detached at top and a handful of pages are a bit ruffled on the right edge, otherwise this vintage book takes the field in pleasing (VG-EX) condition. An odd addition is noted on the front cover, in the form of a strip of tape covered in doodles that were likely applied by 2X Pro Bowler Hughes.
