Description

Good, clean fun was had by youthful readers who were in step with these vintage comic books. Geared toward educational and spiritual enlightenment, this wholesome 1944-1991 "balance of collection" assortment emerges from long seclusion to inform present day collectors. While condition ranges across the spectrum from Fair to Near Mint, a strong majority stand as above average to better. Relatively obscure compared to super-hero tales, these wholesome comics make a refreshing change from the "bam-sock-pow" adventures that dominate the hobby.

Leading the pack is a partial run of "Treasure Chest" issues, published by George A. Pflaum with a decidedly Catholic point of view. Some of the famous artists who worked on this series are Reed Crandall, Joe Sinnott and Joe Orlando and the most famous and highest valued issues are "The Godless Communism" stories of 1961-1962 drawn by Crandall, of which (1) is included with this lot of (164) comics. Also present is a decent sized selection of books published by the Classics Illustrated folks, with some tough specialty types such as "Famous Authors Illustrated" and several foreign editions. And for good measure, this big bundle also includes some classic Dell issues with photo covers and an interesting group of "giveaway" types. Featured are:
