Prior to the DH rule in 1973, Catfish Hunter swung a pretty mean bat. He racked up 25 extra-base hits (including 6 HRs) and drove in over 50 runs. The labeling period here features Hunter's first two of five straight 20-win seasons, culminating with the Athletics' 1972 World Series championship. His 35", 35.1-oz. bat displays excellent use with a back-barrel crack, a 7.5" missing sliver and some checking/grain swelling from repeated ball contact. Hunter's number "27" is notated on the knob. As a point of reference, it bears mentioning that Catfish gamers have sold at auction for as much as $5,000. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
