Description

Near the end of his life Babe Ruth was honored in lasting and memorable fashion as the subject of the 1948 film "The Babe Ruth Story". Though afflicted with terminal cancer, Ruth managed a trip to California to witness the filming of his biographical feature. Offered is an 11x14 sepia photo of Babe Ruth and actor William Bendix talking on the movie set. Bendix is seen in character as Ruth and though obviously in failing health, the nattily attired Babe has a cigar in one hand, while the other hand is gesturing along with an observation he is making. This vintage matte finish photo shows minor wear that for the most part occurs on the periphery and otherwise remains very appealing in (VG-EX) condition.
