Description

Bank your bids on this vintage baseball bank lot of (4). These metal coin receptacles are well established as hobby favorites, thanks to their great display appeal and celebrated Hall of Fame subjects Jackie Robinson, Ty Cobb, Connie Mack and Babe Ruth. With a lineup like that and durable metallic construction, these classic collectibles are destined for an eternal shelf life. Featured are:

Jackie Robinson “Daily Dime Register Bank”. This tin octagonal bank measures 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 x 5/8” and features fantastic graphics, including Robinson in batting pose image on top and a facsimile autograph on the forward facing side panel. Though moderate all over wear is evident, the paint remains vivid and the graphics are distinct, adding up to a solid (VG-EX) example.

Ty Cobb 6" brass metal bank. This formidable figural depicts the "Georgia Peach" in his iconic hands-spread batting pose. Light to moderate wear and minor surface pitting have little impact on the radiant appeal of this gleaming brass statue, which reports in (EX+) condition.

Connie Mack Philadelphia Athletics baseball bank. A regional "Atlantic Dealer" gas station promotional giveaway, this 4" diameter tin bank was produced by famous maker "J. Chein & Co.", as evidenced by a small factory logo on the back. The front is adorned with a facsimile Mack autograph and the legend "Save with Atlantic", while the back is decorated with the A's famous "White Elephant" mascot. Though the paint shows considerable wear and the rubber stopper is absent, the various graphics are still discernible and overall this eighty year old relic boasts plenty of period authentic appeal, in rating as (GD-VG).

Babe Ruth 7-1/2" cast iron bank. Though the only identification appearing on this heavy metal statue bank is the word "Slugger" on the front of the jersey, there's no mistaking the resemblance to the "Colossus of Clout". Sporadic flecks of paint wear and a few minor spots of oxidation, particularly on the left shoe are noted, but overall this captivating figure stands tall in (EX) condition.
