Description

Time flies in your direction with this baseball presentation watch lot of (3). Commemorating important events, these prestigious timepieces are tied to the New York Yankees and baseball executives Bowie Kuhn and Syd Thrift. All are crafted by famous maker brands and all report in excellent to like-new condition.

Featured are:

Hamilton "1981 New York Yankees American League Champions" watch. The Yankees "NY" logo and "American League Champions 1981" appear in white lettering against a blue background on the face, with CZ diamond chips located at the six, nine and twelve o'clock positions and day of the month calendar at the three o'clock position. Some of the blue background color has eroded along the top edge just inside the bezel and the words "Hamilton Quartz" are located on the bottom edge of the face. The back is etched with "10K Gold Filled" and a Hamilton hall mark.

Jostens "1988 Eastern League All-Star Game" watch from the personal collection of former baseball commissioner Bowie Kuhn. Displaying in pristine condition, this watch is decorated at center with a red and black star. The star is ringed with lettering that reads "1988 Eastern League All-Star Game" in black and "June 27th, 1988 Harrisburg, PA." in red. The reverse is marked with a Jostens hallmark and the leather band is marked with "Lizard Calf" in gold tone lettering. Accompanying are the original presentation case and a letter of provenance signed by Kuhn's wife Louisa Kuhn.

Tourneau "2001 American League Anniversary" watch presented to Syd Thrift, while serving as the general manager of the Baltimore Orioles. Issued to celebrate the AL's 100th Anniversary, this prestigious piece presents as pristine and is handsomely appointed. The central device is an AL logo with a "100th Season" banner at top and the dates "1901" and "2001" flanking at left and right respectively. CZ diamond chip accents are located at the three, six, nine and twelve o'clock positions and the jeweler's name "Tourneau" spans the lower region of the face. The reverse is engraved with the name "Syd Thrift" and the original presentation case accompanies.
