Had the All-Star Game been a thing when the careers of Frankie Frisch (d.1973) and Pie Traynor (d.1972) made in to the Majors, these big-time stars would have locked up the left side of the infield for the National League for at least a dozen seasons. Frisch made his MLB debut in 1919 and Traynor joined him a year later, in 1920. When the "mid-summer classic" arrived in 1933, Frisch was selected from 1933-1935 and Traynor teamed with him in 1933 and 1934 for the first two All-Star Games.
