Score an unusual baseball souvenir with this 1912 "World's Series" scoreboard postcard. Produced by "Runey Print", this antique promotional advertising piece touts a live re-enactment of the 1912 World Series games between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Giants. The obverse is formatted with lineups for the competing teams in a scoreboard format, with all-time greats Christy Mathewson and Tris Speaker listed. The reverse side is printed on the left with advertising copy describing how game action will be presented at the "Olympic Theatre", with play by play results from a "special wire connecting this theatre" flashed on a board with a "miniature base ball grounds". On the right of the reverse are handwritten notations that read "Last game of World Series Oct. 16, 1912, Boston won". Research indicates this game tracker postcard is likely rare and condition is very pleasing, with this bright, clean and sturdy card rating as (EX+).
