Few records were kept for the "D"-level Tri-State League, which formed in 1924 after the collapse of leagues in Nebraska, South Dakota and North Dakota. What we do know is that the Sioux City Cardinals franchise had ties to the major-league St. Louis Cardinals, and that Sioux City struggled financially before disbanding in early July. The whole Tri-State League folded soon after. Figures of note from Sioux City included former Federal League player Pep Goodwin and team owner George Seagrist. According to the hand-printed captioning here, the line-up consists of Rabbit Fairchild, Nig Nolte, Joe Goodwin, Archie Kelsey, Mike Hawkins, Red Light, Albert Bool, George Seagrass (Owner), Berry, Joe McDermott, Boots Alter, Dane Pestrtz and Mark Flanagan. (Some names being misspelled.) Copyright goes to the local Lion Studio. Every pinstriped uniform says "Cardinals" across the chest with the Cardinals logo on the left sleeve and the uniform number uniquely located on the right sleeve. The panorama's 36x7 visible area displays quite impressively at first glance, with closer inspection revealing some faint surface streaks, bottom-edge wear, and scattered linear edge creases (a few of which touch players). Exceptional image clarity and contrast overall. Matted and framed (with frame wear) to measure 39-1/2" x 10-1/2".
