This is the Angels cap to own. It marks the 1965 name change from Los Angeles Angels to California Angels in advance of the franchise's move to Anaheim—and, even more importantly,  it's crowned by an embroidered silver halo! The popular and distinctive design lasted through 1970, so the uniform number notations on the underbill of "43 and "24" mean that any of the following Angels may have worn it: George Brunet, Steve Kealey, Greg Garrett, Gino Cimoli, Bobby Gene Smith, Jack Hamilton or Eddie Fisher. A McAuliffe manufacturer's tag appears on the center rear of the leather sweatband. The size-7 cap is in "quite displayable" condition, though not wearable, as " the bill of the cap is brittle, and slightly cracked." LOA from Phil Wood.
