"Taken at the Royal Gorge in Colorado in February 1910 on the way to Spring Training in San Francisco, California. The Following players are in this photograph: 1B-Charles 'Chick' Gandill; 2B-Rollie 'Bunions' Zeider; SS-Lena 'Slats' Blackburne*; 3B-Billy Purtell; RF-Shano Collins**; CF-Paul 'Molly' Meloan; LF-Patrick 'Patsy' Dougherty; C-Fred Payne; OF-Freddy Parent; Inf.-Lee Tannehill; P-'Big Ed' Walsh***; P-Guy 'Doc' White; P-'Death Val[l]ey' Jim Scott; P-Fred Olmstead; P-Irv 'Young Cy' Young; P-Frank 'Seagan' Lange; P-Frank 'Piano Mover' Smith 'AKA'/Frank Elmer Schmidt; Manager: Hugh Duffy *1945-Hall of Fame. Hit .438 in 1894 for the Boston Braves. -This was the first team to play in Comiskey Park in July, 1910. *Lena Blackburne managed the White Sox in 1928 and 1929. **Shano Collins managed the Boston Red Sox in 1930 and 1931. ***Ed Walsh was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1946. Owner Charles Comiskey, in dress hat, is standing center of the backrow. Chick Gandil, organizer of the 1919 Black Sox Scandal, is standing at the far right, in front of man in street clothes. Ed Walsh is standing extreme right rear, holding railroad flag."
