Get wonder-struck with this color guide used to create the front cover of the 1972 DC "Wonder Woman" issue #199, which features artwork by Jeff Jones. Measuring 7 x 10-1/2", this genuine production piece is adhered to a 10-1/2 x 14" black backer board, which is in turn adhered to a 12-1/2 x 18" white backer board. The Amazon Princess is seen in a kneeling pose with her hands chained to the walls, while a grim executioner looms in the background of this amazing Bronze Age treasure. A pinhole is noted at top center of the color guide panel and other signs of light to moderate wear are evident upon close examination, however, this mesmerizing piece still presents nicely. Opposing areas of light and dark provide great depth and the rich colors are reminiscent of an oil painting. Artist Jeff Jones is credited with creating just two Wonder Woman covers, including this one and the ensuing issue #200. Also present is a copy of the Wonder Woman comic #199, which rates as (VG-FN 5.0).
