Baseball Writers' Association of America president Bob Broeg brought back the tradition of BBWAA chapter meetings in his home city of St. Louis with this 50th anniversary dinner in 1958. (A tradition that had been on hiatus ever since the last chapter meeting in 1927 when a fight had broken out among the members!) Ultimately, the banquet was held in coordination with the 1958 NBA All-Star Game, thanks in part to St. Louis Hawks owner Ben Kerner and Cardinals GM Bing Devine. This made for an interesting confluence of MLB and NBA legends, most of whom are represented here with turquoise "8-10" signatures. The 7-3/8" x 9-3/8" piece of heavy card stock rates EX to EX-MT.
