Respectively paying tribute to the first champion baseball team and the first professional club, Harper’s Weekly published these detailed illustrations. Includes:
1865 Brooklyn Atlantics: framed to 13-1/8 x 16-1/8”, the page was culled from the November 25, 1865 issue and features (9) symmetrically arranged images from a team that was the first to be invited to the White House (by President Andrew Johnson in 1865).
1869 Cincinnati Reds: framed to 15x12”, the page features a group illustration of the “Red Stockings”; a small tear at the lower border appears to have been mended by a since-removed piece of tape.
Frames included with lots: while we make every effort to protect the frames included in these lots during pre-auction storage and post-auction shipping, we are not responsible for any damage to the frames themselves, and no refunds will be given due to frame damage.
