There were lots of talented players on the field at Three Rivers Stadium during the 1970s and the stands were mobbed with rabid fans, fueled by plenty of Iron City brew. But there had to be more than talent and beer on hand, to explain the incredible winning atmosphere. There also had to be some pretty strong magic filling Pittsburgh's cookie-cutter stadium during its first decade of play, which saw the Pirates win six division titles and two World Series, while their football counterparts the Steelers were even more impressive, winning seven division titles and four Super Bowls. If all those first place finishes aren't enough to convince you that Three Rivers was a supernatural space from 1970-1979, it was also the site of the "Immaculate Reception".
Another football miracle fronted the Steelers defense, in the form of the "Steel Curtain". This vaunted defensive line unit is celebrated here with a 27-1/2 x 23-1/2" framed display in excellent condition. This professionally mounted display houses a 16x20 photograph signed by all (4) members of the Steel Curtain unit with average ("6-7") strength, including Hall of Famer Joe Greene, along with L.C. Greenwood, Dwight White and Ernie Holmes. GAI hologram sticker only.
Completing this collection are (5) Steelers single-signed 16x20 oversize photos in excellent to like-new condition, with signatures averaging ("8-9") strength, with: Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw with Beckett cert/sticker; and (4) covered by auction LOA from JSA: Jack Ham (HOF), Mel Blount (HOF) and (2) Santonio Holmes.
