Their uniform numbers are "8" and "9", but they are both number "1" in the hearts of Boston Red sox fans. After one of the very best careers in baseball history, Ted Williams hung it up at the end of the 1960 season. While it is literally impossible to replace "Teddy Ballgame", Carl Yastrzemski took up the torch in 1961 and gave the Red Sox Nation as much as it could hope for. The Sox certainly knew a good thing when they saw it, as both of these illustrious stars played their entire careers in Red Sox uniforms. Another noteworthy thing these legends have in common is winning Triple Crowns, a feat Williams achieved twice, in 1942 and 1947, while Yaz pulled it off in the 1967 "Impossible Dream" season. For our purposes, the last bit of common ground we'll mention, is both of these Hall of Fame greats have signed the offered 8x10 photo. This black and white glossy photo reports in (NM) state and both signers have contributed bold ("8-9") strength autographs. Auction LOA from JSA.
