Description

World War II hit football pretty hard, with both the NFL and NCAA games severely depleted as their players marched off to battle. On the other side of the coin military squads were greatly fortified, including the Fleet City Bluejackets, who in 1945 gained recognition as one of the greatest football teams ever. Based out of Camp Shoemaker near Dublin, California, this team was the pride of the Navy, running the table in 1945 to win the championship of a highly respected military league. Review this glorious chapter in football history, with this multi-signed 1945 Fleet City Bluejackets program. Lovingly stored for generations, this crisp program reports for duty in (EX-MT+) condition, but what really makes it a must have collectible, is the inclusion of (40) autographs. Located throughout this ship-shape publication, the autographs range ("6" to "9") in potency. Standout signers are: Hall of Famer "Bruiser" Kinard, running back "Buddy" Young who scored three touchdowns in the 1945 championship game, head coach Commander Bill Reinhart and Commodore O.M. Forster.
