In 1969 Bobby Murcer stepped in the center fielder's role for the New York Yankees, under tremendous pressure from expectations that were stratospheric. Prior to his promotion, center field at Yankee Stadium had been patrolled by a trio of Hall of Famers,Earle Combs, Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle. These legends had manned the position almost continuously from 1925 to 1968, with the only interruption being DiMaggio's military service during WWII. Talk about tough acts to follow, wow! But follow Murcer did and in fine fashion, giving Yankees fans all he had, both offensively and defensively. Claim this great Yankees legend for your collection, with this Murcer single-signed baseball. This OML/Selig ball rates as (NM) with deference to a few small spots of toning on the side opposite of Murcer's pleasing ("8-9") strength sweet spot signature. Steiner COA/sticker.
