Description

It only seems like the New York Yankees played in every World Series from 1921 to 1964, when in fact their participation comes in at about 70% of the time for the 44-year period that started with their first appearance. One of the teams to squeeze past the "Bronx Bombers" during the height of their dynasty, was the Detroit Tigers, who managed back-to-back trips to the "Fall Classic". The Tigers lost to the legendary St. Louis Cardinals "Gashouse Gang" in 1934, but in 1935 they tasted the sweetness of success with a triumph over the Chicago Cubs. It is the latter of these occasions which is celebrated here, with this 1935 World Series lot of (9). A sweet selection for dedicated postseason collectors, this prize package is a fantastic find with:

(5) Ticket stubs from Wrigley Stadium: (2) Game 3 both (VG-EX); (1) Game 4 (GD); (2) Game 5 (VG+, VG)

Chicago Cubs program from Wrigley Stadium (VG+)

Chicago Cubs scorecard (GD)

(2) 9" Mini-pennants: Detroit Tigers vibrant (EX-MT) example with deference to the point being clipped; Chicago Cubs (VG-EX)
