On 4/9/65 baseball fans were treated to the "Eighth Wonder of the World", when the Houston Astrodome opened. On that day, the first ever multi-sport domed stadium hosted an exhibition game between the newly re-christened Houston Astros and the New York Yankees. Already the owner of three MVP awards and seven World Series, Mickey Mantle made yet another mark on history, when he belted a Turk Farrell pitch over the fence for the first home run ever hit at the Astrodome. Relive the moment with this 4/9/65 ticket stub from the Astrodome. This fifty-five year old stub remains fairly clean and solid with moderate corner wear, to rate as an appealing (VG+) example.
