Description



Noted Yankee photographer A.B. Rickerby had the perfect angle for Roger's right-field shot in the 5th inning of Game 6. Maris, eyes skyward, starts his slow-trot circling of the bases. Mantle, eyes likewise, rises from his knees in the batting circle. Giants catcher Ed Bailey, also following the trajectory, dips his glove down in dejection. Umpire Charlie Berry steps forward to observe. All against the dramatic backdrop of World Series bunting and the Candlestick faithful. Rickerby's stamp appears on reverse.
