It's one thing to have held onto those classic illustrated boxes from standard-sized baseball nodders—in particular the boxes that specifically depicted the very doll inside. But it's quite another thing to have had the foresight and wherewithal to keep a big nondescript shipping box from the small number of jumbo promo examples. Considering that ALL such promos were sent direct from Japan to the sole distribution hub of the LA Rams merchandise department, there were very few boxes to begin with—let alone those that managed not to get discarded after the fact. Yes, even bobblehead experts who may have caught the occasional glimpse of a jumbo box over the decades are on the record as having never seen an intact shipping label before. Yet lo and behold, here it is in all its "Made in Japan" glory. We daresay this elusive sole survivor (VG box, EX label) merits prominent display space in the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum. Alternatively, it's a must-have showpiece for the advanced nodder collector who specializes in jumbos. Who knows when, if ever, another still-labeled box will surface on the auction block!
