Description

Boxing buffs beef up your collection with this 1939-1964 Jack Dempsey correspondence lot of (9). Arguably the most popular and iconic fighter of the 1920s, the "Manassa Mauler" was honored with a testimonial dinner in March of 1939. Here we have (7) typed letters in regards to the occasion, including (2) addressed to Dempsey, which are signed by various dignitaries of the period. These nicely preserved letters are adhered to sturdy pages, that were neatly clipped from a scrapbook. In addition to these ancient letters, this group includes a 1964 award document presented to Dempsey, and a signature cut that is well suited for framed display. Auction LOA for Dempsey signature cut; no authentication for the signed letters due to time/cost restraints, however given their nature they are presumed genuine.
