In the realm of baseball heraldry, we have noted just two Brooklyn Dodgers pennant types with the legend "Our Champs". One type has all block lettering, while the other features a mix of block and cursive lettering. Both are pretty rare, however the one with mixed fonts appears to be the tougher of the two, and one of the toughest Dodgers pennants in general. Here we have one of the 1940s Brooklyn Dodgers "Our Champs" pennants with mixed fonts, that we're going to go out on a limb and call "rare squared", given the fact that it's a 3/4-size example.
This white-on-red felt pennant boasts a dynamic layout, with a batter applique at left above the words "Officially licensed," followed by the team name "Brooklyn Dodgers" in arched block letters with flourishes on the first letters. Below the team name is the legend "Our Champs", with "Our" in slanted block letters and "Champs" in cursive font. The design elements are completed with a baseball graphic near the point, which shows light wear. Typical pinholes are located at the top and bottom of the accent strip at left and the upper set of tassels is complete, while the lower set is partial with one strand gone. All of the graphics are full and pleasing, and with deference to the pinholes and the absent tassel strand, this unique pennant presents (EX+) condition quality.
