Description

As young military men, they forever changed history by unleashing nuclear warfare on the world. Much later in life, Enola Gay pilot Paul Tibbets (1915-2007) and bombardier Thomas Ferebee (1918-2000) bestowed their "9-10" signatures upon these two EX-MT checks. In a nice touch, Ferebee's check acknowledges his retired colonel status as well as salutes "75 Years of Military Banking." The checks are displayed on a makeshift backing board with an iconic image and a draft bio. Incidentally, Tibbets named the aircraft after his mother. Auction LOA from JSA.
