Crossover appeal beckons non-sport collectors and comic book lovers alike, with this 1940 Gum Inc. Superman wrapper. The granddaddy of super-hero characters, Superman first took flight in the pages of Action Comics, in 1938. The Man of Steel's quick embrace by fans soon led to the issue of a universe of related items, including the considerably tough 1940 Gum Inc. card series. While these cards are fairly tough and hotly sought after, corresponding wax pack wrappers are much more scarce and even more prized. Mounted in a nicely coordinated red metal 9x10 frame, the offered wrapper is a satisfying example, with bold colors, distinct graphics and a moderate degree of age-appropriate wear.
