The window was very small for Satchel Paige to sign this Perez-Steele Galleries postcard. Issued in late-1981, this Hall of Fame "Fifth Series" postcard was on the market for less than a year before Paige was struck down by a heart attack on 6/8/82. A whale of a find for those seeking to build the most complete signed set of these fabulous art cards, this card hosts a ("7-8") strength Paige autograph, accompanied by a salutation, that reads in full "Best Wishes From Satchel Paige." Staple holes are noted at upper left, on the plain background area, and otherwise the card is crisp and clean with the artwork unaffected.
