You would be doing well to field a team of players of the same caliber as Dwight Evans. Known as "Dewey", Evans was a reliable star for the Boston Red Sox, for the first nineteen of his twenty Major League seasons. Along the way he signed several MLB contracts, including the one presented here. Made for the 1977 Red Sox season, this crisp, clean contract remains appealing, despite staple holes at the top of the first page, and a fold at the top right corner of the last page, which is hand dated 6/24/76. Evans has signed with ("9-10") strength, just below the date, and two notable co-signers have applied average ("9-10") endorsements as well, with Hall of Famer Lee MacPhail as AL President, and John Claiborne as assistant GM for the Red Sox. A stamped date above MacPhail's signature, indicates he approved the contract on 7/1/76. Auction LOA from JSA.
