Don Leppert got off to an auspicious start, belting a homer on the very first Major League pitch he saw. Highlights for Leppert were few, but perhaps his most important honor, was being selected for the 1963 American League All-Star team. Here we have the letter informing him of the prestigious honor. Dated 6/28/63, this letter is typed on American League letterhead, featuring the dynamic "Junior Circuit" logo. The letter is from AL president Joe Cronin (HOF, d.1984), who has signed ("8-9") in the customary location, at bottom right. Mounted on a 10 x 12-1/2" plaque, this fine piece of baseball history bears several compacting folds, along with moderate foxing around the perimeter, but still presents handsomely, with distinct content and plenty of authentic appeal. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
