The proud tradition of "Fighting Irish" football traces its roots all the way back to the 1880s. Things really heated up when coach Knute Rockne took over in 1918, most famously with the 1924 squad featuring "The Four Horsemen". (2) Antique Notre Dame football publications from the memorable Rockne era surface here, with:

1924 Notre Dame Official Football Preview: A scarce publication of great importance, this 1924 Review is filled with historic content, including articles and photos of beloved coach Rockne, the Horsemen, team photos, game by game coverage of ND's undefeated 1924 National Championship season, and an "R.I.P." tribute to George Gipp, known as "The Gipper". This ancient publication rates as (VG) due to moderate cover wear, while the interior is generally fresh throughout, including the many distinct photos.

1931 Rockne of Notre Dame tribute (V G-EX), issued in commemoration of Rockne's tragic demise in a 3/31/31 plane crash. Published shortly after Rockne's death, this loving tribute is a fitting eulogy for college football's greatest coach, who was mourned by the nation.
