From 1921-1964, a first place finish was the norm for the mighty New York Yankees, who finished lower than third just twice during this four-and-a-half decade period. In 1965, the unthinkable happened, when the Yankees slipped all the way to 6th place. Still, the '65 Yankees squad was a talented bunch, as evidenced by the list of signers on this 1965 Boston Red Sox program. This Fenway Park program (GD) hosts (10) autographs, that average ("8") potency unless noted, with: Clete Boyer, Mickey Mantle (HOF), Tony Kubek, Vern Benson (coach), Tom Tresh, Mel Stottlemyre, Johnny Keane (manager), Elston Howard ("6"), Roger Repoz and Hector Lopez. Six of the signers were starting position players in the 1965 season, Stottlemyre was the team's winningest pitcher, and Repoz was arguably the most productive bench bat. Auction LOA from JSA.
