Description



One year shy of an NL pennant and two years shy of Hack Wilson's offensive onslaught, the 1928 Cubbies laid the foundation for success. This ball's prime real estate is the west, Spalding-logo panel faintly featuring Kiki Cuyler, Clyde Beck and Wilson. Also lightly present are Gabby Hartnett, Joe McCarthy, Heathcote, Holley, Stephenson, Gonzalez, Malone, Burke and Grimm. The red-and-blue-seamed ONL (Heydler) sphere is heavily toned and scuffed.
