Description

Michael (Doc) Powers, possibly the first player to die due to in-game action is captured on this tough 1903 E107-1 Breisch Williams (Blank Back) sample. The ill-fated backstop collided against a wall in an April 1909 contest at Philadelphia's Shibe Park. He would pass away two weeks later, although, the crash was never specifically named as the cause of death. Graded 10 Poor 1 by SGC. Only 12 total copies of this relic have been judged by the authenticator in any condition. Despite a combination of creasing, perimeter wear and evidence of pencil writing on the blank reverse, this ball card still presents magnificently well.
