Polar opposites in terms of demeanor, Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig remain revered figures for what they meant to baseball and American culture. Celebrated on PM10 Pins following their outstanding playing careers, each has been captured on these rare 1940s survivors. Includes:
Lou Gehrig: measuring 1-3/4”-diameter, the celluloid souvenir features a black-and-white likeness of the humble hero, which is flanked above and below, respectively, by text reading “Never Forgotten” and “Lou Gehrig.” The original red-white-and-blue hanger and pinback remain intact, although, a loop to facilitate attachment of a charm remains empty. There is rust and age-induced oxidation on the reverse.
Babe Ruth: a 1-3/4”-diameter celluloid keepsake with a black-and-white photo of the mighty slugger completing a swing. Along the bottom, “Babe Ruth” is printed along a white panel in black letters. A vintage red-white-and-blue hanger remains attached, as does a rabbit’s foot charm. There are areas of rust and age-induced oxidation on the reverse.
