To "Challenge the Yankees" back in 1964 sounds like a pretty tall order for any kid. But that was the idea behind this interesting board game made by leading toy brand Hasbro. Fortunately, this intriguing strategy game comes with a set of (25) All-Star player cards to match up against the (25) player cards representing the mighty New York squad, which famously made five straight World Series appearances from 1960-1964.

Also included are: a set of (25) cards with blank spaces so you could fill in other players should you desire; a playing field board; a scoreboard wall with five pockets containing different color action cards; (2) manager strategy cards; a blank pad for scoring; an instruction sheet; (1) position peg; and the original factory box. These components present in excellent condition, with the exception of the box, which has splits on the corners, 4" splits on the two long edges and a few small bits of surface loss. Absent are the pair of dice and (3) position pegs.

The cards are in generally excellent condition, averaging (EX to NM) unless noted, with:

(25) Yankees: Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Clete Boyer, Hal Reniff, Harry Bright, Al Downing, Tom Metcalf, Pedro Gonzalez, Elston Howard, Bobby Richardson, Jim Bouton, Joe Pepitone, Tom Tresh, Tony Kubek, Bill Stafford, Stan Williams, Johnny Blanchard, Jake Gibbs (small tear at top left corner), Hector Lopez, Phil Linz, Ralph Terry, Marshall Bridges, Steve Hamilton

(25) All-Stars: Hank Aaron, Willi McCovey, Duke Snider, Carl Yastrzemski, Al Kaline (surface loss at top right corner), Eddie Mathews, Bill Mazeroski, Juan Marichal, Ron Santo, Moose Skowron, Dick Groat, Del Crandall, Rick Rollins, Tito Francona, Frank Malzone, Pete Ward, Carl Warwick, Art Mahaffey, Milt Pappas, Ken McBride, Tom Cheney, Ron Perranoski, Dick Radatz, Jim O'Toole, Johnny Podres
