Discover the 1946 Division I college basketball champions with this 1946 NCAA Finals program from Madison Square Garden. A rare survivor indeed, this vintage publication documents the second of back-to-back championships in 1945 and 1946 for the Oklahoma A&M Aggies, who now play as the Oklahoma State University Cowboys. Also chronicled are the first "Final Four" appearances of the North Carolina Tar Heels and the California Golden Bears, with the Ohio State Buckeyes rounding out the quartet of participating teams. Dated 3/26/46, this nicely preserved program takes the court in handsome (VG-EX) condition. The driving force behind Oklahoma State's great success, was the 1946 tournament "Most Outstanding Player" Bob Kurland, who also won Olympic gold medals in 1948 and 1952 and was a 3X champion during his six season career with the Phillips 66ers in the AAU. For his winning ways the 7' center was enshrined as a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1961.
