The Allen & Ginter Cigarette Company produced a fifty subject World’s Champions series to promote their tobacco products in the latter years of the 19th Century. The limited foresight of the company could not have imagined the popularity of the cards in the 21st Century. Offered are four SGC graded examples of the ten baseballers in the set which are Chas Bennett (SGC 50), RL Caruthers (SGC 60), Captain Jack Glasscock (SGC 40) and Joseph Mulvey (SGC 30). The players may no longer be World’s Champions but they are still champions of the tobacco card world.
